There are fewer services in and around Shin-Aomori Station compared with Aomori Station in the center of the city. Shin-Aomori Station has several rental car offices, ATMs, convenience stores and the Shunmikan, which contains several restaurants serving local food and stores selling Aomori Prefecture souvenirs including sake and apples. There are coin lockers within the Shunmikan.

There is a small Tourist Information Center within the station supplying brochures and information on Aomori Prefecture.

Most visitors make the short 3km trip into Aomori to find a hotel and a wider range of dining options.
