japanese alps REGION

Between the Kansai and Kantō regions rise the Japanese Alps: a majestic mountain chain whose peaks hover around the 3000-meter mark, ideal for hiking.

Surrounded by the peaks of the Japanese Alps, Matsumoto station is not only one of the essential departure points for activities in the mountains. You can also visit one of the highest altitude castles in the country, Matsumoto-jō.

As for Takayama, it is an ideal base for exploring the region and discovering the charm of the Japanese countryside: the traditional thatched houses, the quintessential lanes and backstreets and, in April and October, ones of the finest festivals in Japan.

It was easy, the passes came in the mail in days. When we were in Japan, the passes were easy to use and we really used them! The first day, an English speaking customer service rep sat with us, made our bullet train reservations and answered all of our questions. Great experience

I rented Wifi hotspot twice before. The ease of picking it up at the airport and the use was really great. Now I cannot imagine no having one while in Japan.

Using the voucher to claim the JR Pass was very simple and the JR pass was very useful in traveling across Japan.
