Haruka Express between Kyoto Station and Kansai International Airport (KIX)
The Haruka is a Limited Express train operated by JR West that runs from Kyoto Station to Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Osaka Prefecture.
The Haruka also connects Maibara Station to KIX in peak periods.
The Haruka began service in 1994 and is the quickest way to reach Kansai International Airport from Kyoto Station with the journey time just 75 minutes.
JR Rail Passes are valid on the Haruka. JR-West free Wifi service is available on Haruka trains.
There are 60 Haruka trains a day with odd numbered trains beginning with 1 running south to KIX and even numbered trains running north from the airport. The Haruka does not stop at Osaka Station.

Maibara Station
Maibara Station connects with the Tokaido Shinkansen, Tokaido Main Line, Hokuriku Main Line and Ohmi Railway Main Line. Close to the station is the Toyoko Inn Maibara-eki Shinkansen Nishi-guchi Hotel.
Hikone Station
Hikone Station in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, close to Lake Biwa, connects with Ohmi Railway Main Line from Maibara to Koka. Near to the station is the Ohmi Railway Museum with a number of locomotives and carriages on display and several hotels including the Hotel Sunroute Hikone and the Comfort Hotel Hikone.
Omi-Hachiman Station
Omi-Hachiman Station in Omi-Hachiman is also on the Ohmi Railway Yokaichi Line running between Omi-Hachiman and Yokaichi.
Yasu Station
Yasu Station is convenient for the Sagawa Art Museum on the shore of Biwako (Lake Biwa). The Central Hotel Yasu is close to the station.
Moriyama Station
Moriyama Station is just across the Yasu River from Yasu.
Kusatsu Station
Kusatsu Station is adjacent to the large Kintetsu Kusatsu department store and several hotels: the Hotel Boston Plaza Kusatsu and the Kusatsu Daiichi Hotel. Kusatsu Station is also on the Kusatsu Line connecting Tsuge on the Kansai Main Line with Kusatsu on the Biwako Line.
Ishiyama Station
Ishiyama Station is adjacent to Keihan-Ishiyama Station on the Keihan Ishiyama Sakamoto Line from Ishiyamadera to Sakamoto. The Reiah Hotel Otsu Ishiyama is close to the station.
Otsu Station
Otsu Station, in Otsu, the prefectural capital of Shiga Prefecture, has several hotels nearby: Hotel Tetora Otsu, the Calendar Hotel and a number of holiday lets.
Yamashina Station
Yamashina Station, in the eastern suburbs of Kyoto, connects with several other lines: the Kosei Line to Omi-Shiotsu Station in Nagahama, the Keihan Keishin Line from Misasagi Station in Kyoto to Hamaotsu Station in Shiga and the Tozai Line of Kyoto subway.

Kyoto Station is the main point of access to the city by Tokaido shinkansen and highway bus, along with Kintetsu and JR trains from Nara (JR Nara Station & Kintetsu Nara Station), and JR trains from Osaka Station. Kyoto Station is also on the Karasuma Line of the Kyoto subway.
Tatasuki Station
Tatasuki Station is close to Tatasukishi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line between Umeda Station and Kyoto's Shijo-Kawaramachi Station.
Shin-Osaka Station
Shin-Osaka Station connects with the Tokaido and Sanyo shinkansen lines, the JR Tokaido Line and the Midosuji Line of the Osaka subway.
Tennoji Station
Tennoji Station in Tennoji has connections to the Tanimachi Line, Kansai Main Line (Yamatoji Line), Osaka Loop Line, Hanwa Line, Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line and the Hankai Uemachi Line tram. The southern terminus at Nakamozu connects with the Nankai Koya Line to the monasteries and temples at Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture and the Semboku Rapid Railway to Izumi-Chuo. Nearby attractions include Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, Tennoji Park, Shitennoji Temple, Isshinji Temple, Tennoji Zoo, Tennoji shopping and entertainment area with the huge Abeno Harukas a new retail magnet.

Hineno Station
Hineno Station is close to both a large Aeon mall and the Osaka University of Tourism. Hineo is also on the Hanwa Line for Wakayama.
