More information about your transfer to Narita Airport

When you arrive in Narita Airport, make sure to get off at the right Terminal fitting your flight. You can find this information ahead of time in your flight booking or by looking up the assigned terminal for your airline on Narita Airport's website. Bus shuttle transfers make it easy to move between terminals if you mistakenly got off at the wrong station. Before your flight, you will find Narita Airport has many amenities to pass the time, from shopping areas to food courts filled with delicious options for a last taste of Japan. Being a major international gateway, you will be at your gate in no time thanks to efficient security lines. Enjoy Narita Airport's amazing facilities, including a nearby onsen at Sora No Yu!

You can also depart earlier on the line than Tokyo Station, at Shibuya Station or Shinjuku Station, making it even more practical if your hotel or accommodation is located near one of these two neighborhoods. Many public transport lines also stop or depart at these two stations, making them convenient spots in Tokyo to depart from.

Note: Narita Airport is a major international gateway to Japan, serving as the primary airport for travelers leaving Tokyo. As such, booking your Narita Express transfer in advance is recommended to secure your seats, especially during peak travel periods, and save time by avoiding lines in your departing station.

Regardless of the class, passengers can enjoy reclinable seats, overhead storage for your luggage, power outlets, and more onboard this convenient and fast airport transfer service between Narita Airport (NRT) and Tokyo.

The Narita Express line (NEX) is operated by Japan Railways (JR), the largest rail company in Japan. Tickets booked through Japan Experience are issued in partnership with JR, ensuring a direct connection with the train operator that will take you from Tokyo to Narita Airport.

How to get to Tokyo Station

Tokyo Station, located in the center of Tokyo, serves as a vital transportation hub for various local public transportation lines. It is the main departure point for Shinkansen trains in Tokyo. Tokyo Station is well-connected with multiple JR lines, including Yamanote, Chuo, Keiyo, and Sobu lines. Moreover, the station is conveniently linked to the Marunouchi subway line, various bus lines, and airport transfer options. Starting your journey from Tokyo Station allows you to effortlessly explore any destination within the Tokyo Metropolitan Area or smoothly continue your trip by catching another Shinkansen train.

Where to go from Narita Airport Station

NEX trains conveniently arrive at Narita Airport in either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2-3, allowing you to easily disembark from the Narita Express and head straight to your gate upon arrival. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 serve as the international terminals at Narita Airport, while Terminal 3 is dedicated to domestic travel. If you are departing from Terminal 3, continuing your journey within Japan with a domestic connecting flight, a complimentary airport shuttle bus service will assist you in navigating Narita Airport effortlessly.

Reminder: you can also decide to depart from Shinjuku Station or Shibuya Station.

Is there a special airport transfer service ticket fare for children?

Yes, there are special fares applicable for children to board the NEX train. Ages 12 and up are considered adults, but kids aged from 6 to 11 benefit from a reduced child fare (except for Green Class). Children under the age of 6 travel for free (except for Green Class). This free fare is limited to 2 tickets, meaning any additional child under 6 will then pay the classic child fare to ride aboard the Narita Express airport transfer.

Eligibility

All persons above the age of 12, with no restrictions of residence status or nationality, are eligible to buy individual train tickets (unlike the Japan Rail Pass and some JR regional passes, for example). Japanese individuals as well as foreigners living in Japan can thus purchase train tickets online. Under the age of 12, the aforementioned child fare conditions apply.

Validity of Narita Express train tickets

Narita Express airport transfer service tickets issued are only valid for the date and time indicated on your booking, from Tokyo Station to Narita Airport.
