JR West offers the Kansai WIDE Area Pass, which gives unlimited access to JR trains in the wider Kansai region and to Okayama and neighbouring towns in the Chugoku region, for 5 consecutive days.
From Kyoto or Osaka you can explore the entire region, from the Sea of Japan on one side to the Pacific Ocean on the other. You can use this pass to visit Kinosaki-onsen, Toyooka, Himeji, Kurashiki, as well as Tsuruga or the Kumano region. The pass also gives you access to the Kansai International airport.
A child price (6 to 11 years of age) is available for this pass. Access to trains is free for accompanied infants aged 5 years or under.
Since April 10th, 2017, the JR Kansai WIDE Area Pass gives you access to the following lines as well: Kyoto Tango Railway, Wakayama Electric Railway, the San’in Main Line between Hamasaka and Tottori, and West JR Bus services within the area.
Beware that these new areas are only accessible if you ordered your Pass from April 10th, 2017.
