Between Niigata and Echigo-Yzuwa

In the Genbi shinkasen between Echigo Yuzawa and Niigata, passengers can enjoy modern art created by some of today’s most prominent artists.

The first car was decorated in Yellow by Nao Matsumoto based on the theme of rich harvests and festivals.

In the second coach, the wall is filled with mirror. As the train is moving, the passengers can enjoy watching the contrast between the moving landscape and themselves standing still.

In the other coaches, passengers can walk around. They will find a café that serve "Tsubame Coffee" and desserts and that use local ingredients with menu direction by Romi Igarashi. A kids room is also available.
