The designs for the new station are impressive to say the least. With the Tokyo Olympics Games in mind, the four-story station include a public area with a fountain and a large screen for future viewing of sporting events that summer.
The new station is designed by Kengo Kuma and the platforms are the first floor and concourse, gates and exits are on the second floors.
Shops are on the second and third floors.
Indeed, this space isn't just for the olympics however; Eki Naka
are being revamped all over the country to become central hubs for events, shopping, and more, so naturally this is a priority for the new station in Tokyo.
The roof is designed to give the impression that it is made of a huge piece of paper and will look like an origami.
